Causes and Cause-Effect Paragraph
Causes Paragraph:
Causes of Global Warming in Pakistan
Greenhouse gases are the cause of global warming. Agricultural processes, burning of fossil fuels and industrial activities emit such harmful gases into the environment. In Pakistan, agricultural processes and the burning of fuels for power generation or heat cause the emission of these gases the most – around 90% of the GhGs. The share of agriculture and burning of fuels is almost equal to each other. Cultivation of rice, manure management and the use of synthetic fertilizers release methane or nitrogenous oxides while power sector like electricity generation and transportation etc. are the other sources of greenhouse gases.
Cause-Effect Paragraph:
In Pakistan, agricultural processes and the burning of fuels for power generation or heat cause the emission of greenhouse gases the most – around 90% of the GhGs. Cultivation of rice, manure management and the use of synthetic fertilizers release methane or nitrogenous oxides while power sector like electricity generation and transportation etc. are the other sources of greenhouse gases (though Pakistan’s contribution to these gases is less than 1% of the GhGs produced the world over) that contribute to global warming. As a result, it has adversely hit the seasons in Pakistan. The average duration of the summer season has increased with an increase in the intensity of heat shortening the duration of the autumn, spring and winters that are becoming less cold. The increase in the temperature has changed the phenomenon of the monsoon also. Monsoons in Pakistan have become more intense (only in 2020, the rainfall was 40% above the normal) with the exceptional decrease in the Balochistan Plateau.
